Luxembourg strengthens its cooperation with Slovenia in the fields of the environment and the climate
On 22 and 23 July 2025, the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity, Serge Wilmes, visited Ljubljana, where he met his Slovenian counterpart, Bojan Kumer, Minister for the Environment, Climate and Energy.
The two ministers praised the excellent bilateral relations between Luxembourg and Slovenia and reaffirmed their shared desire to strengthen cooperation in the fields of international climate financing, research related to environmental protection, the fight against climate change, knowledge exchange and strategic communication.
On this occasion, a letter of intent was signed between the two ministries, marking an important step in the development of their partnership. The agreement provides for enhanced cooperation in the following areas:
- adapting to climate change and building resilience,
- communicating environmental and climate policies, in particular to combat misinformation,
- the exchange of experience on climate services,
- exploring avenues for joint cooperation on climate financing in the Balkans.
This visit demonstrates Luxembourg's commitment to strengthening its European partnerships and actively contributing to a fair and sustainable ecological transition.
