The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has opened registration for experts wishing to participate as expert reviewers for two draft reports:

• the second order draft (SOD) of the 2027 Methodological Report on Short-Lived Climate Forcer Inventories,
• the first draft report (FOD) of the Working Group I contribution to the Seventh Assessment Report physical science of climate change

Methodological report on inventories of short-lived climate forcers

Scheduled for 2027, this methodological report will be the first published by the IPCC as part of the seventh assessment cycle.

This review phase provides a second opportunity for experts to contribute to the project. All comments submitted by experts or governments are taken into account by the authors. The comments, authors' responses and drafts are published after the finalisation of the report.

The Interested experts can register here. The registration deadline is set for 18 October 2026. The second draft report will be available for review from 31 August to 25 October 2026.

This report assesses the latest scientific advancements on the physical basis of climate change, including observed and projected large-scale climate changes, climate processes and feedbacks, and regional climate information.
