A look at the «Smart Buildings and Energies» class at ALR (Atert-Lycée Rédange)

A relaxed atmosphere reigns at Atert-Lycée Rédange (ALR). The classroom is full of control panels, computers and mobile trolleys equipped with all kinds of devices. In order to prepare pupils as well as possible for the challenges that await them in the field of energy efficiency, energy storage and energy management in smart homes and cities, the ALR is taking part in the Interreg Smart-Energy 4.4 educational project to train its pupils even better.

«A few months ago, there was a forest fire in Liefrange. Then there was this mini tornado in Luxembourg and Belgium. We always thought it wouldn't happen here, that it only happened in America or Australia. It makes you think! And yet the pandemic proved that we can all pull together in a crisis. So I suppose that together we'll also be able to tackle climate change!

The ALR works with partners in the Greater Region: Sarreguemines, Eupen, Liège and Trèves. In this way, they can exchange on their respective areas of experience and benefit from professional equipment. Co2ol asked some of the pupils in the 3rd year class in the «Smart Buildings and Energies» section what they thought about climate change and whether there was still hope:
